“The trick is to find that one person who can give it back as good as they can take it.”
What’s Interesting: The love/hate trope was intriguing. I really enjoyed the fiery altercation between Lucy and Josh’s dad. The added layer of the familial dynamic was unexpected and a great addition to the story line. The book would have been totally fine without it, but it brought more depth to the story, which I appreciate.

Review: Sally did it to me AGAIN. Am I a romance fan now? I think I am. This is very hard for me to admit, but I am obsessed. I want all the swoon!
The book started off a little slow for me. I had to rewind it a few times to listen to sections repeatedly because it wasn’t keeping my attention as other the parts were. But, honey, let me tell you: When it got good, it got GOOD! I love a good slow burn: The tension, the heat, the anticipation. I found myself trying to get in a quick listen any chance I could.
I really enjoyed the dynamic of the characters and their own personal journeys in this novel. The strength of Lucy is so relatable and I love that she is pursuing the things that she knows she deserves and, likewise, that Josh is following his heart rather than the conveyor belt that his family built for him.
As I said before, I like the addition of the familial depth, although I do wish we knew a little more about Lucy’s family. I did NOT see the wedding twist coming AT ALL. Talk about awkward!
This was a fun, steamy read and I am excited to read more from Sally Thorne.
