The intricacy of the world building gave me goosebumps. I was able to recreate the Inuit world in my mind so easily because of the detail the book entailed.
Like many others, I had no idea this was a book series until it came out on Netflix. I, of course, binge watched it and immediately had to read the books.
So, I wasn't be able to go to my local Friends of the Library sale last month (and I am SUPER bummed), but I did pick up these new reads in the last month from the Barnes & Noble #BookHaul and from Book of the Month Club and I'm very excited to get through my books on deck to get to these! There are also a few ARCs I'll be reading and reviewing this month too.
Sally did it to me AGAIN. Am I a romance fan now? I think I am. This is very hard for me to admit, but I am obsessed. I want all the swoon!
Ayser's story is the perfect juxtaposition between the immigrant trying to fit into American society as well as the Muslim Arab raised in America that no longer fits into Arabic society. Essentially, Ayser is in limbo between two worlds that she doesn't quite fit into. No matter where she sits, she's on the wrong end of the table.
February was a great month of reading! I read and listened to quite a few novels this month, including a few ARCs. I took a dip into Fantasy, Romance, Nonfiction, and Urban Fiction. Take a look at these mini reviews and let me know what you think!
Historically, I've always steered away from romance novels. However, after reading 99 Percent Mine, I am a fan and Sally Thorne has won my heart.
